The Weight-loss Journey: Take 2!

As many of you know, my last weight loss pilgrimage (here) ended abruptly with the announcement of our forthcoming bundle of joy, Miss Era Lee. Well, she made it here safely and since she is 1 year old and I still haven't lost the baby weight from her 4 year old twin brothers, I decided it was high time to start my journey again!

I had had some luck with my previous weight loss, but it came off S.L.O.W.L.Y. Too slow for me. Like "28lbs in about 6 months" slow. I know that you are supposed to lose weight slowly so it will stay off and all that jazz, but honestly... tell me of one overweight person that wants to lose weight at a glacial pace? Not one? Hmm. Didn't think so. I had heard of this diet called "The 17 day diet" and had given thought to starting, but then those thoughts were overcome with "cupcakes.. yumm" or "pizza... gooey!" and the weight loss got put on the back burner. Well, lets be honest here... the weight loss got completely taken off the stove! Then I heard that my Bro and Sis-n-law had started that diet and he had lost 10lbs....in ONE week- was I hearing things? 1 week?! Ok: dial me in. But lets wait until after tax season so I can concentrate a little more (and eat a few more cupcakes!) So.. I started April 17 (I had to go grocery shopping on the 16th).

Lets just say OH. My WORD. By the end of the 2nd day, I had lost 7.7lbs. Yes, you read that correctly. By the end of the 1st week I had lost an unheard of 10.9 lbs.... in ONE WEEK! Amazing! Now let me just interject here and say that it has slowed down since then, but WOW. That was an amazing jump start!

I've havd a few good weeks and a few bad weeks. The past 2 weeks have been especially hard with Birthday parties and Father's Day celebrations. I had a LOT of "cheat" moments and the scales were not kind.. not kind at all. So on Monday I made a new delcaration that I would get back to being serious SERIOUS about it again!

To date, I have been on the Weight-Loss Journey for 9 weeks and I've lost a total of 23lbs. That's great and all, but I missed my first "goal" by a measly 2lbs! (My first goal was to lose 25lbs by Era Lee's birthday). So... that didn't happen, but I'm still pushing forward! My next goal is to lose a total of 50lbs by September 3rd (our 7th Wedding Anniversary!). That gives me alomst 11 more weeks to lose 27 more lbs. Ehh.. We'll see!
